Business networking or Word of Mouth Marketing is a fascinating method for gaining new business that many medium to large companies completely over look. I’m in a unique position to help in this field as I was involved in a business networking organisation called BNI for almost 10 years. In that time I started as a member and ended up owning my own franchise covering Devon and Cornwall. There are only four methods for getting the new business: Advertising, Cold calling, Editorials and word of mouth marketing. Most businesses ignore the latter or at best don’t do it properly. The concept up of word-of-mouth marketing is to help others get business and to gain business in return. Hence the BNI phrase “Givers Gain”
